Week Beginning 22nd February 2021

Welcome back after the half term break. We hope that you have recharged your batteries and enjoyed a change of routine. We hope that it won’t be too long before you will all be back at school, until then we are really looking forward to engaging in some more home learning and looking forward to seeing posts from everyone on Tapestry.

Fine-motor skills – funky fingers –

  • Make a troll or goat mask, cereal boxes are great for this.
  • Threading…using an up-side down colander
  • post cocktail sticks through the holes
  • thread string or ribbon in and out of the holes
  • Using a hole-punch make holes around the edge of a piece of paper/card (cereal/food boxes) and thread string or ribbon in and out of the holes.
  • If you have a fence or gate outside, why not thread strips of coloured fabric/ florist or gift ribbon in and out of the slats/ links.
  • Practice writing your name (first and surname) with the correct formation. Remember to say the rhymes whilst writing the letters. Maybe you could write the names of everyone in your house.

Gross-motor skills

  • Happy Tent Tales: The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Explore other tales from the Happy Tent…

  • Go for a walk and look for signs of Spring just like Mrs Millard did during the half term break. Can you find any of the things she found? What different things can you find?

Have you noticed that the sun is coming up earlier and it is not as dark in the evenings?

  • Make some targets to throw balls/ water balloons at (targets could be words/ numbers).
  • Play ‘The Bean Game’ inside or outside

Beans on Toast (Spread wide on the floor)

Jumping Bean (Jump on the spot)

Runner Bean (Running on the spot)

Jelly Bean (Shake all over)
