Y1 visit to RHS Wisley
Wow, what a great day we had visiting RHS Wisley. The weather was awesome, the plants were amazing and lunch was tasty.
We even brought home a cutting each to grow at home, can you remember what it is called and how to look after it?
What was your best memory from our visit?
Special Places in RE
We visited St Lawrence Church and met Andrew, the Vicar.
We learnt about why the church is a special place for Christians.
We also talked about our own special places with each other including Dubai, our own homes and eating sweets in our sleeping bags when camping!
We have been learning about maps, symbols, keys and compass directions.
When you are out and about can you find a map with a key and symbols and find out where North, South, East and West are?
A wild rumpus!
We have started our new text 'Where the Wild Things Are' by Maurice Sendak. We enjoyed making ourselves into wild things for a wild rumpus. Why don't you practise at home using the music we had at school? Click the link below.
Welcome back after half term.
We got out into our grounds this week to look at the plants below the Y1 park to see how they have changed now it is summer. There are even some conkers developing on the Horse Chestnut.
Can you name all the plants?
Do you recognise the setting?
Congratulations Harry and Meghan! It is awesome that you decided to introduce baby Archie to the world in St George's Hall at Windsor Castle. We loved our visit to the castle last term.
Welcome to Summer!
Our topic this term is Rumble in the Jungle.
We are looking forward to learning about the continents, animals and lots of other exciting facts about the jungle.
We really enjoyed learning the continents song during our Geography lesson. The link is below if you want to join in at home.
